Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolic Diseases


Looking to take a gap year? The WashU Medicine Clinical Research Training Center (CRTC) is seeking eager and research-oriented post baccalaureates to join their two-year Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolic Diseases.

This program is designed for individuals looking to enhance their research skills prior to pursuing graduate-level education, offering two full years of paid, mentored research.

  • Deepen your knowledge in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolic diseases (DEM) through didactic coursework, seminars, and mentor-supported research education

  • Receive comprehensive guidance throughout the graduate school application process, including MCAT test preparation

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from an accredited U.S. college or university by appointment start date
  • Have graduated no more than 24 months prior to the start of the program
  • Not be enrolled in a degree program by appointment start date
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (WashU will not sponsor work visas for this program)
  • Participate in the program on a full-time, in-person basis and pursue their research training at 75% throughout the duration of the program
