Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolic Diseases

Looking to take a gap year? The WashU Medicine Clinical Research Training Center (CRTC) is seeking eager and research-oriented post baccalaureates to join their two-year Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolic Diseases.

This program is designed for individuals looking to enhance their research skills prior to pursuing graduate-level education, offering two full years of paid, mentored research.

Deepen your knowledge in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolic diseases (DEM) through didactic coursework, seminars, and mentor-supported research education
Build a network of support for career advancement
Access funding to attend one DEM-focused conference during your appointment
Publish research findings as part of an independent research program
Receive comprehensive guidance throughout the graduate school application process, including MCAT test preparation
Elevate your leadership skills as a near-peer mentor for undergraduate scholars interested in a future medical career

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Possess a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from an accredited U.S. college or university by appointment start date
Have graduated no more than 24 months prior to the start of the program
Not be enrolled in a degree program by appointment start date
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (WashU will not sponsor work visas for this program)
Participate in the program on a full-time, in-person basis and pursue their research training at 75% throughout the duration of the program
