Course & Research Opportunity on Political Origin Stories
Professors Betsy Sinclair and Willam Acree are thrilled to announce their new co-taught political science course, The Stories that Win. This course (L32 Pol Sci 3008), developed under the auspices of the Arts & Sciences Literacies for Life and Career Initiative, will explore how power and the uses of history are central to making certain stories, especially "origin stories," the ones that live on as cultural reference points, whereas other fade from our collective imagination. The course will also expose participating students to the unique research methodology of story collection. As per the flyer below, The Stories that Win will meet on Tuesdays from 9-11:50 AM during the Spring 2024 semester.

Students interested in the course and research opportunities involving story collection should join Drs. Sinclair and Acree on Wednesday, November 29, from 4:30-6 PM in Seigle 248 to discuss the professors' ongoing collaboration about political origin stories. They would like to talk with students about their research project, let them try out the experience of collecting a story, and enjoy some pizza! RSVPs are requested to ensure sufficient food is ordered.
