Undergraduate Research Opportunities in Psychiatry

Dr. Ramsey Research Opportunity

Dr. Alex Ramsey from the Precision Prevention and Treatment Lab invites undergraduate students interested in cancer prevention and control, tobacco treatment, and genetically informed interventions to inquire about paid or for-credit research opportunities. Dr. Ramsey leads the PRECISE trial which is focused on providing personalized genetic risk information to patients and their clinicians to improve uptake of lung cancer screening and tobacco treatment.

Undergraduates will play a crucial role in supporting this trial by assisting with recruitment calls to screen and schedule patients for study appointments, helping with data collection and manuscript writing.  Students will receive thorough training on patient recruitment and scheduling and mentorship on manuscript preparation.

Dr. Li-Shiun Chen from the Precision Prevention and Treatment Lab invites undergraduate students interested in tobacco treatment and genetically informed interventions to inquire about for-credit research opportunities. Dr. Chen leads the MOTIVATE trial which is focused on providing personalized genetic risk information to patients and their clinicians to improve tobacco treatment and health outcomes in primary care.

Undergraduates will play a crucial role in supporting this trial by assisting with recruitment calls to screen and schedule patients for study appointments, helping with data collection and assisting with manuscript writing.  Students will receive thorough training on patient recruitment and scheduling and mentorship on manuscript preparation.
