Neuroscience Doctoral Readiness Postbacc Program

A program to prepare recent college grads for graduate training in Neuroscience

WashU Neuroprep is a two-year Post-Bacc program to ready recent college grads for graduate training in Neuroscience. This program is geared toward individuals who had limited opportunity for research experience as undergrads.

The two-year training program includes: 

  • hands-on research in a basic or clinical neuroscience laboratory throughout both years
  • coursework in Neuroscience fundamentals, with options for later advanced coursework
  • instruction in science communication, public speaking and professional skills
  • guidance and mentoring to help navigate Program choices in year one
  • guidance and mentoring in the graduate school application process in year two

Scholars will receive: 

  • Scientific and professional skills training at one of the best neuroscience institutions globally by dedicated mentors with expertise in clinical and basic neuroscience

Eligibility:
Neuroprep participants must be citizens or noncitizen nationals of the United States or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence at the time of appointment. Additionally, participants must have a baccalaureate degree in a biomedically relevant science from an accredited college or university, awarded no more than 36 months prior to when they start the Neuroprep program. Participants cannot be currently enrolled in a post-graduate degree-granting program. The 3-year eligibility limit may be extended by parental, medical, or other well-justified leave for personal or family situations. It may also be extended by national service (Peace Corps, or service in the National Guard or Armed Forces Reserves).
