Call for abstracts - Present your research to a global audience!

WashU students are invited to participate in the International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR), an annual, two-day academic conference that showcases excellence in undergraduate research from around the world. It’s a unique opportunity to present your research to interdisciplinary audiences across international borders in real-time, video-linked sessions from your home campus — and a supportive, yet rigorous environment to develop your confidence and your professional skills in communication, presentation, and engagement. Students of all majors, with projects from all disciplinary backgrounds, are welcome to apply.

ICUR is now accepting all submissions for ICUR 2026. Since the conference will take place in late September 2026 (9/29 - 9/30), you must be an enrolled WashU student in the fall to apply and participate in the conference. Research projects proposed for presentation can be works in progress or completed, and should be under the advisement and direction of a faculty mentor and/or structured research program.

The WashU instance of this fall’s ICUR conference will be run by the Center for the Humanities. Please navigate to their landing page (https://humanities.wustl.edu/2026-international-conference-undergraduate-research) to get connected with ICUR resources.

The Center for the Humanities will hold a virtual info session and abstract writing office hours event on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 12 - 1:30 pm. Click here to register: https://humanities.wustl.edu/events/icur-abstract-planning.

Please reach out to Dr. Meredith Kelling (mlkelling@wustl.edu) at the Center for the Humanities with any questions.
