Undergraduate Research Student Panel

Topics in Immunology: Navigating the Immune Landscape by Lily Chang, Onyi Onyeador, Justin Yun, and Justin Li

Undergraduate research panelists include:

Lily Chang, Role of Eomes in Regulating Cell Death and Function of Human Natural Killer Cells
Mentors: Todd Fehniger and Pamela Wong

Onyi Onyeador, in vitro Validation of in silico Predicted Tumor Specific Antigens
Mentors: Todd Fehniger and Michelle Becker-Hapak

Justin Yun, Role of Blocking CSF1R in cDC1 Differentiation within the Tumor Microenvironment
Mentors: Carl DeSelm and Chloe Huntzinger

Justin Li, Aberrant Cebpa Expression as a Trigger for Imapried B-lymphopoiesis
Mentors: Daniel C. Link and Grazia Abou-Ezzi

In this panel, four undergraduate researchers will share their current and past experience researching Natural Killer cells, Dendritic cells, B cells and T cells. First an overview of the immune system will be presented to provide an understanding of the central components and functions. Then, each student will discuss their research, which range from characterizing immune biology at the molecular level, to utilizing this knowledge for future clinical applications. All students and faculty are welcome regardless of their background in immunology.
