Symposium Presentation Workshop

This interactive workshop will help you prepare for the undergraduate research symposium by focusing on the challenges and rewards of presenting academic work to a broad audience in a short form.  The first half will offer advice for giving effective, engaging presentations, while accounting for varying levels of expertise, and the challenges of a shorter time limit.  We will provide suggestions for both short lightning talks and poster presentations. The second half will allow participants to share their work in small groups and to help identify which parts of their research are difficult for non-experts to understand, as well as which parts really engage their listeners’ interest and enthusiasm.
