Symposium Oral Presentation Workshop

This interactive workshop will help you prepare for the undergraduate research symposium by focusing on the challenges and rewards of presenting academic work to a broad audience.  The first half will offer advice for giving effective, engaging presentations, while accounting for varying levels of expertise, and the challenges of a shorter time limit.  The second half will allow participants to briefly discuss their work in small groups and to help identify which parts of their research are difficult for non-experts to understand, as well as which parts really engage their listeners’ interest and enthusiasm.
