Please make sure you complete all the fields below and upload your 1000-word essay and unofficial transcript* (Your GPA is not the final indicator of acceptance to the program but provides a history of courses you have taken). Note that this form requires you to click "submit" twice: once for your file upload, and once at the very bottom of the page.
1. In the essay, please describe why you want to conduct scientific research, how you will benefit from the program, and your expected career plans. Upload this essay with your application. Your essay should be formatted as a .pdf. Please include your name on the essay file.
2. One letter of recommendation is required for your application to be complete. The letter should be from someone at WU who is familiar with you and your interests. It need not be a science lecturer, but can be an advisor or faculty representative whom you know. If you have already found a lab, the recommendation should come from your mentor. The letter of recommendation should be uploaded to this webform. For questions about the uSTAR Summer Scholars Program, please contact Dr. Jim Skeath, jskeath@wustl.edu.
3. Unofficial transcripts can be pulled from WebSTAC> Academics> Unofficial Transcript (Can hit "Do Not Display" on all)> Run> Printer Friendly in upper right hand corner> CTRL+P to save as PDF.
Students need not identify a mentor prior to applying to the program. If selected for the program, we will work with each student to help them identify a mentor. If you do already have a mentor, please provide their information here.
